Pay Per Click

So you’ve build a few blogs, and maybe some landing pages that you’re hoping to get a little traffic and make a few bucks right?  I’ve been doing the same, after all I’m just an average Joe and this is not my main source of income.  Well, lately as this part-time gig’s financial rewards starts to increase, I’ve begin to wonder if I should make this more then just ‘part-time’?  Maybe part-time times 2?

I’ll be honest, I’m lazy!!  Why? Because my other business takes up about 80 hours of my time every week, and that is why I don’t update this blog as often as I would like to.  So if a few extra hours a week can make mw an extra few hundred bucks a month, I’m all for it.

So why this PPC (Pay Per Click) post?  Well I was having a late night instant message conversation with one of my friend who works just as hard as I do in his main gig.  He said, “Hey dude every try PPC?” and my answer to him is probably what most average Joe would respond.. “No Way Dude! I ain’t got the money or time for that!”

2 minutes later he replied “ $103 Spend on PPC campaign, sales commission $815 … Time spend this week 3 hrs”

Fuck me!  Pardon my language, bit he just made what I made in 2 month in 3 hours.  Which made me think really hard this week, it’s time to do some tweaking!

You know what they say “Don’t work harder, work smarter!”  So I’ve decided to take the plunge and give PPC a try.  How much is this gonna cost me?  Well this is what I got planed out!

He then send me this link ( PPC free credit or coupons ) let see for  $35 bucks I can get $80 in Microsoft adCenter and $130 in Yahoo Search Marketing, so that’s $210 in PPC credit for $35!!

I’ll report back in a few days with my results and see if I’ve changed my ways

StumbleUdon

Are you using it yet? If not you’re missing out on some great traffic.  Since I last blogged about getting Stumble Traffic using StumbleUdon, I’ve come to rely on it to get some of my blog posts a nice kick start!

I’ve seen a few people try to sell this on Entrecard for EC credit (actually that’s how I found out about it at a cost of 250 ec), I think that’s just silly!  The more people in the networks means more unique people to stumble your site!

Not everyone are allowed to join the StumbleUdon, you must have an invitation code, and have the following requirements:

>must have a profile pic and has rated some sites
must have at least 20 mutual friends

If you qualify and would like to sign up now, click the invitation button below, it’s that simple.  The only thing I ask is please leave a comment if you’ve used the invitation button below so I can update it with a new invitation code for the next person that might want to join.

New Program – PepperJam Network

I rarely find a program that really wow me right away. I think this is mainly because I???m not a super star affiliate, and I don???t usually get all the freebies and the rockstar treatment by these affiliate programs. Not that PepperJam> has treated me any different. But from the first time I got on their site, I was impressed with the overall design and flow of the site!

The join process was fast and painless, I didn???t have to answer 2???3 phone calls from reps and I didn???t have to wait 2 weeks before I was approved. Actually I was approved and in the backend joining offers in less then 12 hours!

From the first time I logged into the backend of PepperJam Network I can feel the ???difference??? everything is very web 2.0 ish. Getting campaigns up and running took less then 10 mins.

One of my favourite function so far is the PepperjamADS, this is where you can generate ???Google looking??? text ads with multiple programs. Simply select the programs you like and generate, and one simple code to put on your site for multiple offers!

Pepperjam1

Finding the right offer for your site is just as easy! Simply click on the Find Partners button and in a few clicks you???re all ready to go!

Pepperjam002

Overall this is by far one of the best affiliate marketing program I???ve seen in a long time! I???ll try a few campaigns and let you guys know the results!

Check out PepperJam Network

Nice blog and contest

Have you noticed every other day there???s a new blog is popping up about how to make money blogging? Everyone has a tip on how to make money using ???their??? tip, even newbies like me got a tip to give LOL! But seriously, once in a while I???ll come across a nice blog that makes me go ???humm.. bookmark this one, it???s good!??? and that was the case with Rockfuse ??? Mind Blogger. I???m not sure if the if Nadeesha is creating a brand name ???Rockfuse??? or ???MindBlogger??? either way, it???s catchy and creative (lot more then WeblogMoney??? or as some like to refer it as ???WebLogMoney???.

I really like the colorful header, but I felt like the sidebars were a little bit empty (maybe I???m just used to seeing every other money blogs filled with advertisements) In anycase the few posts that I read they were ALL very informative and useful for a blogger and affiliate marketer.

I subscribed to MindBlogger???s feed because I don???t want to miss a post, and if you???re a new blogger I suggest you do the same if you don???t want to miss any great tips!

Don???t forget about the ???10 second entry??? contest, with prizes worth over $250!

Where did January go??

>

As an affiliate marketer I have the tendency to want to do too many things all at once.  Like me you probably visit the usual suspects every day, John Chow, ShoeMoney, Uber Affiliate… list goes on (and if you don’t then you should).  The problem for me is this, every one of these guys are pitching something everyday..  well almost. And that is cool with me, because that’s what affiliate marketing is all about right?

So I signed up for all these programs with great determination of becoming the next ‘Uber Affiliate’!  Next I send my whole 100 clicks from my site to it.. nada, ok lets spend some of this weekend’s beer money on some kind of PPC campaign… nada!  Now I’m back to square one!

What a shitty tip you might say, and you’re right!  But I do have a point, and that is DON’T get sidetracked from what’s working for you because the big guys say it the next greatest thing and you feel like you have to jump on it right away (chances are the bazillion readers of their blogs are jumping on the same train)!

I’ve been on that train,  as a matter of fact I’ve been on it since the beginning of the year and that’s I’m making this post.  Since the beginning of this year, I’ve jumped on every program recommended by every reputable affiliate marketing blogger.  And I’m sure a lot of these programs and offers are really great, but the truth is this IT DOESN’T WORK FOR THE SMALL GUYS LIKE ME and probably you!

Now that I blew the first 45 days of the year trying to become an overnight pimp affiliate, I’ve come to the realization that I don’t have a $3,000 a day PPC budget, I don’t have 10K of daily unique visitor.  So one step at a time average Joes, there’s nothing wrong with having a blog that pulls in only $100–$200 a month,  duplicate that 10 times and it becomes a decent chunk!

Website-magWhat does this have to do with the Website Magazine ?  Nothing, I just put it up there because they send me a nice free magazine every month, and it does have some great info.  Best part of it is I get my daily dose of information on affiliate marketing in the bathroom (guys, you know what I’m talking about… put that Playboy down and get yourself a complimentary copy of the Website Magazine)

Happy New Year! (kindda late)

Cheers - New YearI hope everyone had a great New Year celebration.  I know this post is kind of late, but I was away for most of Christmas and New Year and just got back in town.  Since I’m not (..not yet) a hard core blogger I don’t have the luxury of ‘mobile blogging’ capability.

So did I spend all my riches earned this year on a New Years eve party?  NOPE!  I actually had a pretty quite New Years Eve!  I spend most of the night planing for 2008, pausing the last 10 second count down and kiss and hug the ones I love and then it was back to work!

Well it’s almost 10 days into the new year, have you made your plans yet?  One thing I’m planing on changing is to increase my monthly income from this blog from ‘covering weekend bar tabs’ to something more!  My girlfriend said my blog tag line makes me sound like an alcoholic anyways.  So the challenge to myself this year is to make this blog break at least the 5 digit mark in monthly revenue (yes $10,000).

Here are some summarised report of my top 5 money in 2007 (numbers are for the whole year.

  1. Adsense $747.85
  2. Private Ads $375.00
  3. Affiliate Programs $242.29
  4. ClickBank $172.92
  5. Text Link Ads $112.82

I know it’s nothing to brag about, but keep in mind I started this to make a few extra bucks for my weekend outings, with minimum efforts.  Now it’s time to put in some efforts!!

What’s on the agenda for 2008?

  1. More organized ad sale (working on it)
  2. Increase efforts on what I’ve tried and made money: (BANS, SEO, New affiliate programs to try such as TTZ Media, DealDotCom)
  3. Try some new strategies: Google Time (just read that the other day), Free Google Ads (which I read the past few days and seem promising, will update with a review next week)

What’s on your agenda?  Drop a comment and share what work for you (put in your ref code if you like to recommend a product/program!

What were your money maker for 2007

Monday!

Well this weekend went by really fast, I was looking forward to my New York Jets upset the Pats but that didn’t happen.  I saw a post on John Chow (the passionate blogger) today that got me thinking!   Do I love what I do?  Do you?   I guess I’ve never realized how one would consider this ‘hard work’.

I have this little cartoon from ToothPasteforDinner.com that reminds me how lucky I am everyday.

>My-dream-has-finally-come-true

I’m glad that is not me!  I think the day I consider this ‘hard work’ is the day I’ll stop doing it.   I’ll admit that MOST of the things I’ve tried on the web doesn’t work, but I chalk it up as another lesson learned.

This was me 3 years ago, pimpin it and living the life….93

This is where I live today… Not where I want to be
Leak 005

But I keep trying and lean from the mistakes that I’ve made and move on.  The most important thing I’ve learn in the 36 years on this planet is that life is full of ups and downs, and if you can keep your focus on where you WANT to go, you’ll get there and the trip there won’t be that ‘hard’!
